Abu Dhabi Airport Terminal A
Abu Dhabi Airport Terminal A was finally opened in November 2023 and it is one of the biggest terminals in the world.
Terminal 1 and 2 are inoperative. Terminal 3, even that it is inoperative, it will be kept if there is an overflow of passengers.
Covering over 742,000 square metres, the new terminal can process up to 45 million passengers per year. Its undulating roof it is one of its main characteristics, also its X shape.
One of the main updates are the biometrics touchpoints which will play a key role in minimizing waiting times as passengers will be recognized by that facial technology.
Also, there are more than 7,500 solar panels that power the airport facilities.
Biometrics will play a key role as the first airport in the world to include nine biometric touchpoints.
It will use facial recognition technology to screen passengers and minimize wait times.
It is a big new terminal, with more than 163 retails and outlets spaces!

The Terminal counts with 56 gates divided into different concourses, with a big central spaces. Once inside Terminal A, passengers will find latest technology check-in counters (there are a total of 156, and an extra 48 for self check-in) and access to airside after security check.
